Equitas Health (formerly AIDS Resource Center Ohio) is a regional not-for-profit community-based healthcare system founded in 1984. Its expanded mission has made it one of the nation’s largest HIV/AIDS, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) healthcare organizations. With 15 offices in 11 cities, it serves more than 67,000 individuals in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia each year through its diverse healthcare and social service delivery system focused around: primary and specialized medical care, dental services, behavioral health, HIV/STI prevention, advocacy, and community health initiatives.
The Equitas Health Pharmacy operates as a social enterprise for Equitas Health and is one of the pillars of the healthcare organization’s patient-centered care model. 100% of pharmacy profits are reinvested back into the organization’s programs and services, providing an earned income revenue line for the organization while providing a critical service for the community.
Our mission is to be the gateway to good health for those at risk of or affected by HIV/AIDS, for the LGBTQ community, and for those seeking a welcoming healthcare home.
We have the cultural awareness to provide competent care to the LGBTQ community and those seeking a welcoming healthcare home.
Through our network of facilities and expertise, we can address the full needs of patients, offering services in the fields of medical, social, and behavioral care.
The breadth and depth of our services is now greater and we are able to serve anyone in the community-in addition to those at-risk or living with HIV/AIDS.
ACCEPTANCE & RESPECT
We offer an accepting and safe healthcare environment for all.
We allow our providers to spend more time with patients. This gives them the opportunity to listen to the patient’s concerns, build a relationship, and build competency in treating the patient with a person-centered approach.
We stay at the forefront of evolving medical approaches, technology, and treatment to meet the challenging needs of our community.
NOBILITY OF PURPOSE
We are proud to be engaged in the noble purposes of defeating the HIV/AIDS epidemic and addressing LGBTQ healthcare disparities. We will continue to be pioneers and leaders in the pursuit of health, wellness, equality, and equity.
